Lean, Clean and Green
How does True North Cedar work to protect our environment?
True North Cedar is dedicated to giving our children and our grandchildren a part of the planet that has been preserved and protected as much as possible.
- Renewable Forests – Cedar forests in Minnesota renew in 40-65 years
- Full Use – From pickets made of toppings to logs made of bases, each cedar tree is used in full.
- Refurbished Equipment – Whenever possible, True North Cedar buys and re-tools used equipment.
- We Recycle – All pallets are recycled and reincarnated and used again.
- We Make Mulch – True North uses all tree harvest waste to make our great garden and landscape mulch.
- LEED Certificate Opportunities – True North does offer a specialty shingle compliant with LEED Certification. (It’s a bit more expensive – but it makes a statement.) Our LEED compliant shingle is made exclusively from utility poles, bridge pilings, and old timber.
- Off-Peak Power – True North uses it.
